I’ve been giving myself a creative challenge over the last 9 months… I challenged myself to try to take photographs of daily life with my iPhone instead of relying on my “big gun” (aka my Sony A77 DSLR) and see if I could still create images the way I see things in my head. Winter

Been on stormwatch since last night. The Bay Area is getting deluged. At midday today, rainfall rates were equal to a category 1 hurricane. Schools were closed today in anticipation of this monster storm. I don’t ever recall having a “rain day” before. We’ve had more rain in Dec than we had all last year. Crazy!

Last evening, I loved how the crescent moon looked peeking through the leafless trees on the chilly December evening. There is something about it… I just love walking through parks and gardens at night.

Spring

The pomegranate is blooming. Bright petals are beginning to fall on the bench below while the sun casts beautiful dappled shapes through the branches of the bush.

Summer

 

Homegrown organic roses almost always have little imperfections making them a bit rough around the edges, but they are still beautiful. I find the same to be true with people.

The ‘Painted Lady’ butterflies started showing up yesterday. Today I have several fluttering around the lavender and clover. They were perfectly happy to pose for iPhone pics.
